The primary objective of this project was to apply various design methods in our research, aiming to reach a well-crafted and research-based solution. Our project specifically focuses on exploring the emotional value that individuals attribute to their used products.

MY ROLE
Afterlife is a service that addresses the environmental crisis through an app, empowering users to sell and donate their old and used products while earning rewards for their proactive actions. Participants can also conveniently track the progress of their contributions and rewards using the app.
An application designed to aid users in the seamless handover of their used products, enabling efficient segregation for reuse or recycling purposes. The app also offers a comprehensive tracking system to monitor the progress of each item, while users are rewarded for their valuable contributions.

Through the course of this process, I identified pertinent and actionable research frameworks applicable to the project, facilitated both primary and secondary research. Additionally, I had the opportunity to design the business model based on the research findings.

FEILD RESEARCH
To better understand the user, we conducted a cultural probe. We gave people a bunch of products we use in our daily lives and asked them to distribute them in the given boxes for recycling, reuse, donation, and sale. As a result of this activity, we were able to gain a better understanding of how people use different products and whether they are aware of the right distribution method.
UNDERSTANDING THE SYSTEM
During the research, we encountered various mindsets and needs that we aimed to integrate into the service we were designing. To analyze our findings, we utilized multiple frameworks, among which the ERAF map proved to be the most beneficial in identifying the specific sections on which we needed to focus.
